May 3rd

This is my desk at work.

Notice how I only have one monitor.

I am the only one with only one monitor....David, who site next to me, has four.

Apparently I am the low man on the totem pole.

Also, notice the IM box open with Aubs....that is a consistant sight on any day.

Also notice all the artwork and memorablia I have already collected.

But most of all, notice the STUPID ergonomic keyoard.

I can not type on it at all. I mean I will take carpal tunnel over this any day.

May 2nd

So I bought a table for our entry way.

Aubs told me the table needed a plant.

Small problem.....

I kill plants

But, I am trying it out. Yellow Calle Lillies.

Their are already looking sick.

Wish me luck.

Glee

OK so I will admit....I am (was) a Gleek.

I love (loved) this show and it's total quirkiness.

So like most (except Dave who said it is like Dawsons Creek with Music) I was totally excited for season two.

Well BUH

This show has totally fallen flat. I mean there have been a handful of funny lines and such but otherwise....blech.

I mean the Madonna episode was TERRIBLE and facilitated my first mom moment. As I watched I felt TOTALLY uncomfortable...and I WATCH SOUTH PARK.

As I sat there the mom moment rushed it. I thought "the acting is bad, the script is bad, the music is dumb and my kids will NEVER be allowed to watch this...I mean it is totally promoting teen sex". Then I sat there and thought, I just had a mom moment...damnit...wait now I am back...wooo.

The one thing that stands true is my favorite character. She is is unfailing and perfection every episode. Emma Pillsbury's wardrobe. It has always been my favorite character.

And so Glee...step it up. I am giving you two more episodes before I quit you and just look on the internet for what Emma was wearing on that weeks episode.

Choir

I sang in church yesterday.

It was a small solo with the Young Women.

I got a cookie for showing up to practice.

Anyway, afterwards I had an onslaught of people ask me why I was not in the ward choir.

I smiled politely and just shrugged.

I did not tell them.

I can not stand ward choirs.

The drama
The ego's
The sitting for an hour while the tenors learn their part
The evil looks the altos give sopranos

I just can not handle it.

I also can not handle pressure.

Yesterday....I went to choir practice.

I die.

Enpowered Woman Unite

In my ward I carry the charge of teaching the 14 and 15 year old girls.

Because of this I have had the opportunity to re-evaluate my life.

There are things I have discovered:

I care too much about my weight
I care too much about my weight
I care too much about my weight

I know where I get this. I know where it comes from.

All  of us girl struggle in some way or another with some sort of self-confidence issue.

Because of this...who teaches the younger generation not to worry?

How can I expect my girls (because I will have all girls) to have the self confidence they need to navigate this life if I can not gain it myself?

That is why I am asking the woman who read my blog to STOP putting themselves down.

Start lifting yourself up and knowing who you are.

Unite girlfriends....and afterwards we can burn our bras.
