It is full of delightful goodies that I hope make it under the tree.

I was cast as Tammy in Hairspray.

She is a member of the Council, which is the group of kids on the Corny Collins Show.

I am one of five girls in the Council...and get ready for this......

It is a dance part.

Yes folks....this little girl who has been singing since she came out of the womb was cast

Miss turned 29 on Tuesday.

She is great.

Today I tried out for my first musical.

Bestie awoke early and met me there........

so she could sit and do nothing while I auditioned.......

just to be there.

Miss and I always take our things in together and we try on what we grabbed and then we try on what the other grabbed.

There have been some great times.

There have been some sad times.

There have been hilarious times.

For instance there was the time that a zipper broke on a skirt so I had to pull it over my head resulting in pain and laughter.

Or when I MADE miss try on designer jeans for the first time

Or when I find the perfect button down and my boobs will not fit in it and Miss gives me the look of "I told you your boobs would not fit"

Gratitude

As I grow older, and mature more (not much), I find I look forward to General Conference more and more. I am grateful for the opportunity to be spiritually fed by the leaders of our church, especially our prophet.

As he spoke today I thought on gratitude and how much I have been given. 

Gratitude for:

My health

My family

My friends

The gospel

My Savior

My job

My calling

My young women

Today as I listened I was especially grateful for the Lords timing. Sometimes I may not understand. But, my life has shown over and over again that the Lord knows what is best for me. He knows when I am ready for certain things and when there are lessons that need to be learned.

So on this day, I am grateful most my Heavenly Father and his love for me and my family.

Last year Ed, Miss and I went to the fair. 

We brought someone else along.

We all bought wristbands together so we could ride the carni rides and fear for our lives together.

All of us....but the person we brought along. 

He did not want to buy a wristband.

This brought up a very valid requirement for a husband.

He needs to be up for anything. 

I mean, I have never laughed as hard as I did on the Tilt a Whirl.

And the person we brought missed out.

This year Ed and I rode rides again at the fair.

And it reminded me of what a good man I have.

Because he humors me and rides fair rides with me.

And buys tickets and wristbands to do so.

A Cowboy

About a month ago my sweet grandpa was rushed to the hospital.

Ed and I drove to Evanston to give him a blessing along with my cutest cousin Heidi and her family.

It was a scary time. I love my grandpa. And he looked so frail.

I sat and talked to him and tried not to burst out in tears. 

When I heard it.

My cousin and her husband coming down the hall with a few giggles.

And in walked this boy

Full Chaps, vest and hat.

He does not take them off. 

He made me smile that day (as he does most days I see him).

I will forever be grateful to Sam the cowboy for making me smile that day.

I love my family.

So, we have live streaming Netflix.

That is a recipe for disaster for me.

I mean a Saturday could be lost to it.

Especially when I found this gem.

I loved this show when it was on Comedy Central.

I mean, perfect humor, perfect timing and Stephen Colbert.

If you have never seen it, I am sad. But no fear, they made a movie and you can rent it and then praise my name for the gift I bestowed upon you. Then you can sit for an entire day and watch season after season while eating chips and salsa, chocolate covered almonds and drinking Diet Coke.

Not that I know anything about that.

My Beef With Disney

I would like to start by saying that ANYONE who knows me or knows of me knows I love Disney and Disneyland, so know this comes from a place of love.

Dear Disney,

I wanted to draft this letter to let you know that I am hurt and disappointed by the lack of strong female characters represented in your merchandise. I will have you know that not every girl wants to be a princess and SOME of us have been told we are not tall enough to be a princess. Some of us girls like old school (or retro) Alice and some of us like Jessie from Toy Story and some of us like both.

I think it is a shame that we are brainwashed into thinking that we have to love Ariel (barf) or Tinkerbell. I mean I searched all over your damned park for a Jessie pin and could not find a one...and I have owned all the Alice pins you have for FIVE years...time to make some new ones.

I mean we girls don't always need a prince, don't always have to sing, can have a strong opinion and CAN take care of ourselves. I would have spent HUNDREDS of dollars on Jessie or Alice merchandise. I mean I do applaud the new princess Tiana, now there is a strong woman....and I appreciate her strong merchandising but STILL, SHE IS A PRINCESS.

Please Disney, give girls the chance to buy strong female characters. And please make a Jessie hat for adults.
